AA Degrees Satisfy Generals

All AA degrees satisfy undergraduate Veritas general education prerequisites, excluding religious studies/integrations.

Who is a Transfer Student?

Who is considered a transfer student?

A transfer student is defined as a student who meets one of the following definitions:

  • The student has enrolled in 12 or more semester credits after graduating from high school as noted on the official transcripts submitted for the application for admission
  • The student has other transferable credit earned post-high school which can include military service, work experience, ¹û½´ÊÓƵ-Level Examination Program (CLEP) tests, etc.

If I’m PSEO, am I considered a transfer student?

No, you are not considered a transfer student because you are a high school student concurrently enrolled in a college or university. Post-secondary students must apply to the college through the first-year admissions office.

Who are non-degree-seeking students?

Non-degree-seeking students are those enrolled in coursework at the ¹û½´ÊÓƵ who choose not to apply the credits toward a degree or licensure at St. Scholastica. Non-degree-seeking students pay regular-rate tuition out-of-pocket and are not eligible to apply for financial aid. Those seeking to be a non-degree-seeking student need to .

GPA and Scores

What is the required GPA for acceptance?

A cumulative 2.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) or higher is required for regular acceptance to the ¹û½´ÊÓƵ. If your cumulative GPA is below 2.0, contact your admissions counselor to discuss options.

What is a cumulative GPA?

The cumulative GPA is the average GPA when all your GPAs from multiple schools are combined. Students having attended more than one school after high school will have their cumulative GPA calculated for acceptance and/or establishing eligibility for the Transfer Student Benedictine Scholarship. PSEO and graduate-level courses are not factored into the cumulative GPA.

Are ACT, PSAT or SAT test scores needed for entrance into the ¹û½´ÊÓƵ?

No, transfer students are not required to submit scores from these testing sources.

When to Apply

When is the best time to transfer to St. Scholastica?

The earlier you , the better! Once you’ve decided to apply, contact us to set up a time to speak with a transfer admission counselor and map your next steps.

Should I finish my two-year degree before transferring to St. Scholastica?

It’s not necessary to complete your two-year/Associate Degree before transferring to St. Scholastica. However, community college students who complete an Associate of Arts degree from any state will have the AA degree accepted as a block to satisfy all Veritas general education requirements except a Religious Studies and Integrations course. St. Scholastica also accepts the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC). Financial Aid and Scholarships

How can I find help paying for college?

All Duluth main campus transfer students receive the Transfer Benedictine Scholarship and most students also use financial aid, grants and apply for additional scholarships to cover the cost of college. Complete the and check out our ¹û½´ÊÓƵ’s Financial Aid page for more information.

Will my financial aid transfer?

What is the Transfer Benedictine Scholarship?

The Transfer Benedictine Scholarship is an academic merit scholarship for Duluth main campus transfer students and is based on your entering/transfer cumulative GPA. The scholarship is not based on need.
