The primary purpose of the Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Health Information Management (HIM) is to allow a pathway for students with a bachelor’s degree in another field to gain the knowledge and competencies needed to successfully sit for the national RHIA credentialing examination without having to complete an additional bachelor’s degree.

Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in HIM

  • 52 undergraduate credits
  • No pre-requisite courses
  • Up to 20 transfer credits allowed
  • Approximate duration: 2 years
  • Earn additional experience with completion of 80 hours of onsite professional practice
  • Tuition: $410 per credit

MS Health Information Management

  • Earn eligibility to sit for the聽聽credential exam upon completion
  • 40 graduate credits
  • 9 pre-requisite credits (can be completed at start of the program)
  • Approximate duration: 2 years
  • Obtain leadership and management competency through experiential learning
  • Tuition: $680 per credit

The reporting period for these outcomes is Aug. 1, 2022-July 31, 2023.

  • 87% of students complete the BS in HIIM program in the calculated average completion time
  • 86% of BS in HIIM graduates responding to the graduate survey were employed full-time within 1 year of graduation*
  • 100% of employers responding to the BS in HIIM Program employer survey stated they would hire a St. Scholastica graduate in the future
  • 100% of professional practice experience mentors feel graduates will meet employer expectations
  • 80% retention rate overall for BS in HIIM students

*For the graduate data, a graduate survey is sent out to all graduates 1 year after a student confers their degree. During the reporting period, there were 15 graduates contacted of which 7 responded to the survey. Of those, 6 were employed full-time within one year of graduation.

Application Deadlines

Early submission is encouraged; applications are reviewed as they are completed. Applications completed after the following deadlines will be submitted for the subsequent term.

Eligibility

New Students
  • B.A./B.S. degree from an accredited college or university
  • Cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 for entrance into the college
  • Cumulative GPA of at least 2.7 for entrance into the program
Note: Meeting minimum entrance requirements does not guarantee admission. The 果酱视频 may still consider applicants with a lower GPA through a special status committee; contact an admissions counselor to learn more.
Returning Students

A returning student is a student who was admitted and enrolled in a program at St. Scholastica but has been absent from the program for at least three continuous semesters, including summer. To return to the same program at St. Scholastica, a returning student must be in good academic standing and must apply for readmission to the 果酱视频.
